I believe the most important part of the therapeutic connection is trust and approachability. I am a REAL and down to earth therapist. It so important that we feel comfortable with each other in order to sort through the messy details of your life that you may not feel comfortable in others seeing. I work to create an environment for us to work together that feels safe and comfortable without feeling stuffy or sterile.
Now for the important (but somewhat boring stuff). I have worked in field of psychology (in one form or another) since 2011. I received my BS in Psychology form The college of Charleston, a MA in Clinical Counseling from the Citadel, and am currently licensed as Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of South Carolina. Although my formal training is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy based, I practice in an eclectic style with heavy emphasis on mindfulness pulling for other evidenced based practices including Humanistc Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. In addition to my formal education as a therapist, I am a 200 hr registered yoga instructor.
